THANK YOU to the AMAA members currently enrolled in MAPP, for the timely response to your invoices in which your MAPP fees were billed.  We appreciate your cooperation!

QUESTIONS ON TATTOOING an animal?  Please click on the link found on the left side of this homepage, titled “Registration and Membership” then click on the link, ‘Maine-Anjou Identification’.  Note a herd prefix must be used in the animal’s tattoo; herd prefixes must be assigned through our office.

QUESTIONS on mating combinations, resulting percentages of progeny?  Click on the link found on the left side of this homepage, titled “Registration and Membership” then click on the link ‘Upgrading Chart’.

LOOKING FOR A BULL’S Registration Number?  We have a list of frequently used sires, at the link on the left, titled “Breed Information”.  They are listed alphabetically by nickname.

TH/PHA Requirements:  All donor dams and all bulls that have been collected MUST HAVE TH and PHA on file as well as parent verification before registrations on ET calves will be released.  We are currently accepting TH and PHA results from the following three labs:  AgriGenomics, Igenity, and Pfizer.  You can find the submission/request for release forms for each lab by clicking on the link found on the left side of this homepage, titled “Genetic Abnormality Information”.  If you have TH and/or PHA results on any registered animals that have not yet been submitted to our office, please fax (816.431.9951) or email (maine@kc.rr.com) those results to us, to avoid delay on any registration work.  You can find TH/PHA results on an animal (if our office has received that information) by clicking on ‘Search M-A Breed’ and keying in either the animal’s registration number or it’s name.

PARENT VERIFICATION is required as well on all donor dams or bulls that have been collected.  You will need to request the submission forms for this from our office; please note there is a $35 fee per animal, payable to our office.  That testing is done through Veterinary Genetics Lab at U/C Davis, California.  Either hair samples or semen is acceptable for DNA testing.  Please call our office (816.431.9950) or email (maine@kc.rr.com) a request for a DNA submission form.  If the animal is registered, we will only need the registration number.  If the animal you want to test is not registered, we will need the following on the subject animal:ID, gender, date of birth, color of animal, sire and dam information.

LOOKING FOR A MAINE-ANJOU MEMBER near your area?  Click on the link (left side of homepage) titled “Association Information” then click on ‘Membership Listing’.  The list is given by state.
